BREAKING NEWS: Schools For Classes 1 To 7 Will Not Open In Pune From December 1

Pune, 30th November 2021: After the threat of the new Coronavirus variant Omicron, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has deferred the plans to allow classes 1 to 7 in schools from December 1. Now these classes will resume from December 15, 2021.

PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar has issued an order in this regard today. 

The order states: 

  • The commencement of classes 1 to 7th in Pune Municipal Corporation area is being postponed till 15th December 2021. Further orders will be issued after 15th December 2021 after reviewing the situation regarding Corona. Regular classes from 1st to 7th will be completely closed till further orders. However, online education will be allowed.
  •  This order is also applicable in areas under Pune cantonment board (PCB) and Khadki cantonment board (KCB).
  • Any person violating the orders and guidelines for the prohibition of COVID-19 shall be liable to prosecution in accordance with sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and other legal provisions as per section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
