“Bring My Father Back, I’ll Pay Rs 2 Crore to Air India”: Daughter’s Grief After Ahmedabad Plane Crash Goes Viral

New Delhi, 14th June 2025: In a tragic aviation disaster, 265 people lost their lives in the Ahmedabad plane crash, including 241 passengers on board the ill-fated aircraft. The Tata Group, which owns Air India, has announced ₹1 crore compensation for the families of the deceased.

The accident has left the nation in mourning and exposed the emotional and logistical turmoil faced by the families of the victims. Outside Ahmedabad’s Civil Hospital and BJ Medical College, scenes of grief and desperation continue to unfold as relatives of the deceased search for their loved ones.

Grief Turns Viral: “Can Compensation Bring My Father Back?”
Among the many heart-wrenching stories emerging from the tragedy, one video has struck a chord on social media. A woman named Falguni, who arrived at BJ Hospital to identify her father, broke down in front of the media.

“Can compensation ever bring my father back? My mother is ill, she needs him. I need his love and affection,” she sobbed. “If they can bring my father back, I will give ₹2 crore to Air India. He loved flying with them.”
Her statement has gone viral, highlighting the emotional toll the tragedy has taken on families.

Identification Process Underway at BJ Medical College and Hospital
With the bodies severely damaged in the crash, authorities are relying on DNA testing for identification. Hundreds of relatives have provided blood samples at BJ Medical College, where multiple forensic teams have been deployed to expedite the process.

Officials estimate that it may take 48 to 72 hours to complete the DNA analysis and begin releasing identified bodies to families.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has ordered a high-level investigation into the crash. Meanwhile, security and administrative personnel are working round-the-clock at both hospitals to manage the influx of grieving families and support the identification and compensation processes.

This incident marks one of the deadliest air crashes in India’s aviation history.
