Cable Wire Gets Entangled in Motorcycle in BRTS Lane, Rider Dies of Severe Head Injuries

Dapodi, September 1, 2020: A 57-year-old rider succumbed to death after a cable wire hanging from a branch of a tree got entangled in his bike.

The deceased, Shyam Ashok Borawake (57) from Hadapsar was travelling with his colleague Tulashiram Gavali (57) to return home from work. He was a bus driver with the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML).

On August 26 around 10:30 pm, the accident occurred and Borawake who was driving the bike near the Kasarwadi BRTS lane on the old Pune-Mumbai highway succumbed to severe head injuries while Gavali escaped with only minor injuries.

An FIR has been registered against Borawake with Bhosari police station. Except for PMPML buses and emergency vehicles, other vehicles are not allowed entry on the BRTS route.
