Camp: Youth Arrested For Killing Waste Picker For Teasing Him

Pune, 8th May 2021: The officials from Crime Branch Unit 2 of Pune city police have arrested a 31-year-old youth for allegedly killing a waste picker in the Modikhana area of Camp. The accused told police that the deceased used to tease him and did not allow him to consume narcotics in his shed.

The deceased was identified as Ismail Shaikh (55). He was found dead in his shed on May 6. An FIR was registered against unidentified person at Lashkar police station.

During the investigation of the case, Police Naik Mohsin Shaikh from Crime Branch Unit 2 received information about Mohammad Azad Sukkasabh Shah (31), a native of Uttar Pradesh, who lived near the shed of the deceased. There had been enmity between Shah and the deceased.

Police nabbed Shah who confessed to the crime during interrogation. He told police that the deceased used to tease him and his sister-in-law and also used to tell him to return back to UP. He had also insulted him and did not allow Shah to consume narcotics in his shed. Around 3 am on May 6, Shah hit the waste picker on the head while he was sleeping. Police had found the body around 11 am.

The team investigation team included Police Inspector Mahendra Jagtap, API Vaishali Bhosale, Prakash More, ASI Yashwant Ambre and police personnel Kishore Waggu, Namdev Renuse, Mohsin Shaikh, Uttam Taru, Chetan Gore, Sameer Patel, Mitesh Chormale and Gopal Madane.
