CBSE Results 2022: CBSE requests UGC to ask universities to wait for 12th results

New Delhi, 9th July 2022: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has urged the higher education regulator UGC to direct all universities to wait for class 12th results to start admissions in UG courses. The CBSE board has written to the University Grants Commission (UGC) asking the universities to plan their UG admission schedule keeping in mind the CBSE 12th result. It is being said that the UGC can issue guidelines to all the universities in this regard next week.

The board, in a letter to the UGC, said, “It is being observed that some universities in India, especially Maharashtra, have started the process of UG admissions for the session 2022-23 and have fixed the last date of application as last week of July.”

 

In such a situation, it is requested that all the universities should be instructed to decide the process of their admission keeping in mind the declaration of CBSE results. According to the news published in the Indian Express, the board has also said that it will take about a month to prepare the result.

 

CBSE has issued this letter after starting the admission process on behalf of Mumbai University. The SSC and CBSE results have not been released yet and many colleges affiliated to Mumbai University have released the second merit list. Students have been given time till July 13 to confirm the seat.The third merit list is to come on July 14.

 

Not only in Maharashtra, but colleges in Tamil Nadu also started their admission process after the declaration of the state board results. Admission in Karnataka Degree College will start from July 11. However, the Tamil Nadu government has instructed the colleges to keep their application window open till the declaration of CBSE results.
