Rains Expose Poor Quality Road Work In Pune City
Pune, 9th July 2022: The heavy downpour over the last five days has exposed the poor quality of roads in Pune city. Just a few months ago, even when the paving of the roads was done, there were potholes on those roads again. The condition of the newly paved roads is getting worse due to heavy rains.
However, the citizens are facing problems while driving on the roads. Last year, many roads were dug in the city for water-line and drainage lines. Even for the mobile, internet cables, and electricity cables, the roads were dug. Due to this, there was not a single road in proper condition.
The Municipal Commissioner ordered the Road Department to stop the digging of roads and restore all of them before the monsoon begins. But, due to a lack of coordination between the Road Department and the Water Supply Department, roads were not properly paved again.
The potholes have been reported on Riverside Road, Bund Garden Road, Sinhagad Road, Chatushrungi, Range Hills Corner, Khadki Station, Bremen Chowk, Senapati Bapat Road, Wadarwadi, Niljyoti, Yerwada, Kharadi, Katraj-Kondhwa Road, Bibwewadi, Hadapsar, Wanwadi, Dhayari, Koregaon Park, Solapur Road, Mundhwa Road etc.
