New Delhi, 21st June 2021: The results of class 12th will be declared by July 31. Students dissatisfied with the evaluation and result will be given a chance to appear in the examinations between mid-August to September, the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) today informed the Supreme Court.

Earlier, the CBSE had released the evaluation criteria for the class 12th result on June 17, which was accepted by the Supreme Court. The board had given the evaluation formula of 30:30:40 for the 12th class result. Then during the hearing, the court had asked the board to include things like grievance redressal mechanism, alternate exam dates etc. In this regard, during the hearing today, CBSE submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court.

According to the affidavit, CBSE has agreed to constitute a Dispute Resolution Committee on Class 12 evaluation criteria in line with the Supreme Court guidelines. The purpose of this committee would be to resolve the grievances of the students on the marks being awarded to them. CBSE said in its affidavit that the 12th result will be released by 31 July.

At the same time, if the students are not satisfied with their examination results, they will be provided with an opportunity to appear in the physical examination. Students will be given ample opportunity to apply online for appearing in the written test. These exams will be conducted offline from August 15, 2021, to September 15, 2021. However, for the students appearing in the examinations, the result prepared based on the marks of the written examination will be considered as final.
