Pune, 07th February 2026: Prateek Goswami, General Manager of Central Railway, carried out a detailed safety inspection of the Daund–Lonavala section under Pune Division on Saturday covering key operational, infrastructure, and safety installations across the route.

The inspection began at Daund with a briefing, followed by checks of the Crew Lobby and the Electronic Interlocking (EI) Building. During the visit, the General Manager commissioned the Basic Training Centre, solar panel installation, Electric Loco Shed, and the Testing Van, and inspected the lathe machine and Traction Sub-Station at Daund.

At Kedgaon, Goswami commissioned the Gang Hut and Track Machine Rest House and conducted a speed trial on the Kedgaon–Uruli section. He later inspected Level Crossing Gate No. 7 between the Uruli–Loni section and Curve No. 1 on the Up Main Line between Loni and Hadapsar. Turnouts numbered 118B, 123A, 121B, LWR No. 3, and station facilities at Hadapsar were also inspected.

During his visit to Pune station, the General Manager reviewed facilities at the Divisional Railway Hospital, ongoing station development works, Pune yard remodeling, Crew Lobby, and Running Room. He later addressed the media at a press conference and held interactions with union representatives.

The inspection further included Sangam Bridge, Girder Bridge No. 190/1, and the Railway Colony at Chinchwad. At Chinchwad, Goswami commissioned a Basic Training Centre, inspected the TRD Depot, reviewed departmental safety exhibitions, observed a Dog Squad demonstration, and inaugurated an Android-based cleanliness feedback application.

Subsequently, the General Manager inspected LHS No. 53 at KM 164/3–4 near Begdewadi, Level Crossing No. 43, and commissioned another Gang Hut. He also interacted with branch officers during the visit.

Throughout the inspection, Goswami engaged with ground-level staff and officers across locations. Rajesh Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager, Pune Division, along with senior officers from Central Railway headquarters and Pune Division, accompanied the General Manager during the inspection.
