Ceremonial Horses from Mauli Palanquin Procession Pay Tribute to Dagdusheth Ganpati

Budhwar Peth, 18th June 2025: In a rare and majestic gesture, ceremonial horses from the prestigious Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhi procession offered a unique tribute to the revered Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati in Pune. The two decorated horses entered the temple’s main hall (Sabhamandap) and bowed before Lord Ganesha in a symbolic act of devotion.
The horses belong to the royal Shitole Sarkar family from Ankali in Belgaum, Karnataka. Upon their arrival in Pune, a special horse worship ceremony (Ashwa Poojan) was performed at the Dagdusheth temple by the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust and Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal.
Present at the occasion were Trust President Sunil Rasane, Shrimant Urjitsinh Shitole Sarkar, Shrimant Mahadji Raje Shitole Sarkar, Yuvraj Vihaanraje Shitole Sarkar, Mohiniraje Shitole Sarkar, Treasurer Mahesh Suryawanshi, Dnyaneshwar Rasane, Mangesh Suryawanshi, Rajabhau Paymode, Pratik Ghodke, Raju Waykar, and Rohit Londhe, among others.
The tribute was a blend of tradition, reverence, and pageantry, marking the spiritual connection between the Sant Dnyaneshwar Palanquin procession and the beloved Dagdusheth Ganpati.
