Pune, 18th April 2023: The superintendents of CGST Pune continued their protest for the second day by holding a lunch hour gate meeting to discuss further steps to intensify their agitation. One of the decisions taken was to only work according to the rules since the administration is insistent on implementing the policy. They have resolved not to prepare adjudication orders for the Group A officers, a task that is usually delegated to the superintendents.

During the meeting, another issue that came up was the use of WhatsApp for official communication. The superintendents decided to stop taking official instructions on WhatsApp after a particular cut-off date due to the administration’s non-cooperative attitude. The superintendents then silently marched to the third floor of the building where the Chief Commissioner’s office is located and gathered in front of his office.

They plan to keep their protest disciplined and within the conduct rules. The Kolhapur unit of CGST, which falls under the Pune zone and has the same administrative control, also held a lunch-hour meeting to protest against the policy.

Meanwhile, the Goa unit of CGST, which is also under the same chief commissioner’s administrative control, has filed an application in the Central Administrative Tribunal, Mumbai, requesting a stay on the transfer policy.
