Pune, 10th September 2023: The Pune Divisional Railway Hospital, dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to patients with unwavering commitment and hard work, achieved a significant milestone today. In their relentless pursuit of excellence in healthcare, patients receive top-tier medical care and essential medications to alleviate their suffering.

Today, the hospital successfully conducted a challenging surgery, marking a notable achievement for the Pune Divisional Railway Hospital. The patient, afflicted with Mandibular Subcondyle, underwent an Open Reduction and Internal Fixation (ORIF) surgery that lasted for an impressive 5 hours and 45 minutes.

The patient had been admitted to a private hospital five days ago, but due to financial constraints, the surgery could not be performed there. Understanding the patient’s predicament, the doctors at the Railway Hospital decided to take on this challenging case themselves. The surgery posed significant challenges for both the surgeon and the anesthetist.

Following the successful operation, the patient is currently under observation and is on a steady path to recovery. Remarkably, the surgery was completed at the Railway Hospital at a cost of Rs. 30,000, which includes implant and other associated charges. Typically, this type of surgery would cost approximately Rs. 6 lakhs if performed in an empaneled private hospital.

The achievement was made possible by a dedicated team of railway doctors, including Dr. Pranoy Kude, Dr. Ankit Sah, Dr. Milind ND, Dr. Ankita, and Dr. Naveen Kumar, along with their nursing and support staff, who collectively contributed to the successful completion of the surgery.

Indu Dubey, Divisional Railway Manager, Brijesh Kumar Singh, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Dr. Sajeev, Chief Medical Superintendent, and other officers extended their heartfelt congratulations to the Pune Railway Hospital team for this remarkable feat.
