Chandrakant Patil takes an autorickshaw ride to visit Pune’s Ganpati mandals
Pune, 16th September 2026: State higher and technical education minister Chandrakant Patil chose an autorickshaw over his usual VIP convoy while visiting Pune’s prominent Ganpati mandals on Tuesday, drawing attention from devotees and citizens along the way.
Patil travelled by autorickshaw to seek blessings at Pune’s five revered Ganpati idols, besides visiting the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati and Shri Bhau Rangari Ganpati during the ongoing Ganeshotsav.
The minister visited various Ganpati mandals across the city and interacted with devotees, extending his greetings on the occasion. His decision to travel by autorickshaw was particularly noticeable amid the traffic congestion in the city during the festival.
Patil said he chose to leave his VIP vehicle convoy aside so that his movement would not inconvenience citizens during the festival. While travelling through the city, several Pune residents greeted him by raising their hands, while some appreciated his decision to travel by autorickshaw.
During his visits, Patil also interacted with office-bearers of the Ganpati mandals and reviewed arrangements, including security and festival planning.
Patil offered prayers for the progress and prosperity of the state and the well-being of citizens. He also prayed for farmers facing difficulties and expressed hope that positive and significant changes would take place in the education sector with the blessings of Lord Ganesha.
