Charholi, Moshi, Talwade, Kiwale, Ravet, Dapodi, Phugewadi could be included in PCMC Smart City development plan

Pimpri-Chinchwad, February 12, 2021: The second phase of the Smart City development plan will include new areas in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

 

Smart City Chief Executive Officer Shravan Hardikar informed that they have been directed to submit a detailed report on whether the plan should include Charholi, Moshi, Talwade, Kiwale, Ravet, Punawale, Dapodi and Phugewadi.

 

Hardikar also clarified that the final decision on which areas will be included under the plan will be taken by the general assembly.

 

The twelfth meeting of Pimpri-Chinchwad Smart City Limited was held on Friday at the Smart City office located at Auto Cluster. The meeting was chaired by PCSCL President Dr Nitin Karir, who participated via video conference.

 

Smart City Chief Executive Officer and PCMC Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar, Smart City Director and Mayor Usha Dhore, House Leader Namdev Dhake, Standing Committee Chairman Santosh Londhe, Leader of Opposition Raju Misal, corporator Pramod Kute, Sachin Chikhale, Central Government Representative Mamta Batra, Pimpri-Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, Smart City Chief Executive Officer Nilkanth Poman, Rajan Patil and Financial Officer Jitendra Kolambe were present during the meeting. PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Rajendra Jagtap was also a part of the meeting through video conference.

 

There were 22 topics were on the agenda of the meeting. As per the demand in the letter of the system integrator of both RFP 2 and RFP 3 tenders, the issue of non-penalty extension for the work of the project was decided. Financial Officer Jitendra Kolambe’s resignation was approved and Sunil Bhosale was appointed to his replacement during the meeting.

 

PCMC Commissioner Shravan Hardikar said, “New areas will be added in the second phase of the Smart City development plan. We discussed which areas should be included and on what principles the area should be chosen during the meeting. From a business point of view, areas that have malls, where nooks can be made available, whether the needs of the citizens can be met, whether affordable houses can be made available, and how many commercial and residential properties will increase. All these points have to be taken into consideration. Therefore, considering the future income of the municipal corporation from property tax, the development plan will include new areas.”

 

The officials discussed the inclusion of complex but already developed areas in Charholi, Moshi, Talwade, Kiwale, Ravet, Punawale, Dapodi, Phugewadi, Bhosari under Area Based Development (ABD). A detailed report in this regard is expected to be submitted to the committee.

 

Hardikar said, “The final decision on which area to develop under the Smart City development plan would be taken by the general body.”

 

“A master plan has been prepared for setting up public toilets across the city under Smart City. the implementation of the same will begin soon,” he informed.

 

The House and Broadcasting Development report was also discussed and approved during the meeting. The PCMC has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU)with Bajaj Gram Vikas Sanstha.

Sandvik company will provide Atal Tinkering Lab to four municipal schools as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR). The company also signed an MoU regarding that during the meeting.
The meeting also approved the appointment of a Vigilance Committee for the Smart City.
