Check Roads To Avoid During Pune Bandh Today

Pune, 13th December 2022: To protest the contentious remarks being made about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and other notable figures who have shaped the history of Maharashtra, opposition political parties and social organisations have organised the Pune Bandh and Silent March today. They have asked the shopkeepers and other establishments to remain closed till 3 pm. Medical stores will remain open.

 

The march will begin at 9 am from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Statue at Deccan corner and proceed via Jijamata Chowk, Lal Mahal, turning left at Belbaug Chowk, turning left at Shivaji Road, and ending at the same locations via Tilak Chowk and Laxmi Road. To prevent traffic during this time, changes to the traffic flow have been made.

 

Route –

 

Laxmi Road: From Sonya Maruti Chowk to Alka Talkies Chowk, Belbaug Chowk (march starts from that point, and traffic will be closed until it passes)

Shivaji Road: SG Barve Chowk to Belbaug) Chowk (after the march passes Sevasdan Chowk to the end)

Bajirao Road: Puram Chowk to Appa Balwant Chowk

Ganesh Road: Phadke Houd Chowk to Jijamata Chowk

Kelkar Road: Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk

 

 

Starting on Tuesday at 7 am until the conclusion of the march, there will be no parking from Belbaug Chowk to Tilak Khedkar Chowk. On Nehru Road, go from Narpatgiri Chowk to 15 August Chowk, Power House Chowk, and KEM.

 

Buses from PMPML will be rerouted as needed from Laxmi Road to the KEM hospital and from Sant Kabir Chowk via Seven Loves Chowk and Mal Dhakka Chowk. During this time, Pune residents should take Tilak Road, Kelkar Road, and RB Kumthekar Road to get where they need to go.
