Chinchwad Election: Massive Turnout for Rahul Kalate’s Transformation Padyatra in Punawale as Residents Rally Behind Him
Punawale, 12th November 2024: “This year, the trumpets will sound, changes will happen, and Rahul Dada will become an MLA!” This strong declaration was made by Punawalekar as residents of Punawale enthusiastically welcomed Rahul Kalate, the Mahavikas Aghadi candidate from the Chinchwad constituency for the Maharashtra Assembly Elections, during his transformation padyatra on Monday evening.
The padyatra began with a grand reception at Punawale Gavthan, where villagers greeted Kalate with drums, trumpets, and fireworks. The procession, which started after an offering to the village deity Kalbhairavanath Maharaj, saw thousands of citizens, local dignitaries, and villagers joining in.
The walk covered various parts of the village, including Kate Vasti and Gaikwad Nagar, with women performing traditional rituals and citizens showering Kalate with garlands and flowers. As the procession reached Mohite Chowk, it was met with a grand welcome, with flowers being showered from five JCBs.
Speaking on the occasion, Shiv Sena’s Punawale Division Chief, Nitin Darshale, highlighted Kalate’s efforts in resolving local issues, such as the garbage depot problem, and stressed the need for his leadership for the overall development of the Chinchwad constituency.
A local resident Puja Tiwari praised Kalate’s focus on women’s health and family development, stating that Punawlekars would fully support him this year.
