MSRTC Bus Accidents on Mumbai to Pune Route, All Passengers Safely Transferred
Mumbai/Pune, 12th November 2024: On Monday morning, an E-Shivneri bus operated by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) under a wet lease met with an accident near Sion in Mumbai while en route from Dadar to Pune. The bus swerved and mounted a roadside divider, though no passengers were injured.
All passengers were safely transferred to alternate vehicles for the continuation of their journey. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. “There were no injuries, and all passengers were quickly shifted to other vehicles for a safe onward journey. An investigation is underway,” stated an MSRTC official.
The MSRTC is widely regarded as the backbone of the state’s transport system. Operating a fleet of over 14,000 buses daily, MSRTC connects more than 44,000 villages with towns, district headquarters, and major cities across Maharashtra. It serves around 5.5 million passengers each day, playing a vital role in ensuring connectivity and accessibility for residents, bridging rural and urban areas.
