COEP Confirms Structural Safety Of Pune Metro Stations After Maha Metro Rectifies Deficiencies
Pune, 15th April 2023: The Maha Metro has completed all the necessary rectification work to ensure the structural safety of the Pune metro stations. The Maha Metro has engaged the COEP Technological University in Pune for a structural audit of the metro stations, following which the COEP team visited the metro stations over 15 times for inspections, Maha Metro stated in a press release.
The COEP has confirmed that the rectification work carried out by the Maha Metro is up to standard and certified the structural safety of the metro stations. The necessary procedure at the HOD (Civil Engg Dept) level was followed for engaging the consultant and payment of consultancy charges directly to the COEP.
However, there have been questions raised about the COEP report, and the matter is currently being examined by the relevant authorities.
Two engineers have filed a petition in the Bombay High Court in this regard.
