COEP Signs MoU With Wipro PARI To Launch Advanced Tech Centre In Pune

Pune, 23rd February 2022: College of Engineering Pune (COEP) and Wipro PARI announced an agreement to build a Centre for Advanced Manufacturing and Automation Technologies as well as a Robotics and Automation Laboratory.

Wipro PARI will fund a new facility in the COEP manufacturing sciences complex that will have two floors, one with a manufacturing technology lab on the first floor and the other with academic classrooms, computer labs, and offices. Wipro PARI Centre for Advanced Manufacturing Technology will be the name of the structure.

 

On this occasion, Wipro PARI director Sundararaman, Govind Oza, and COEP director Prof Bharatkumar Ahuja were in attendance. Wipro PARI will also assist with the establishment of an integrated manufacturing lab focused on robotics and automation applications. This lab will be named after Mangesh Kale, one of Wipro-founders. PARI’s The facility will assist in the development of a curriculum. Through projects and factory visits, labs will cover the cutting edge of manufacturing technology and engage with academics and students.

Pratik Kumar, CEO, Wipro Infrastructure Engineering said, “With this MoU, we aim to facilitate the students and academicians to gain the knowledge and skills in advanced technologies such as robotics, automation & industry 4.0. It is important for educational institutions to establish centres of excellence and laboratories that provide adequate exposure.”

Also, COEP director, Prof Ahuja said, “COEP has always been keen to collaborate with the industry to ensure the current, cutting edge and futuristic curriculum, facilities and research. This collaboration gives us a great opportunity to partner with the world leaders in this field.”
