The complaint was lodged by Pratap Chandra. According to him, he had taken the first dose of the Covishield vaccine on April 8. While the second dose of the vaccine was expected to be received after 28 days, the duration of the second dose was extended by six weeks. The government then extended the period between the two doses upto 12 weeks.

Chandra has said that he did not feel well after taking the first dose. He cited a statement by ICMR Director Balram Bhargava in which Bhargava had said that antibodies were produced in the body after taking the first dose of the Covishield vaccine.
