Complete lease allocation process immediately for slum dwellers – Fadnavis

Nagpur, 30 June 2019 : “Revenue Department, Nagpur Improvement Trust and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation should prepare time bound programme for the allotment of lease to slum dwellers and complete the process of issuing lease allocation to registered beneficiaries” directed Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He was speaking in a meeting organized to review the distribution of registered lease of ownership of slum dwellers at Ramgiri, Nagpur, today. He gave instructions to complete the lease distribution program and to complete the deadline.

There is a hundred slums are on the land of revenue department. Out of this, 52 slums dwellers have complete information about the tenants who are owned by them. For the distribution of lease, about 4,700 applications have been received from different parts of the city, out of which, 3,900 beneficiaries have been eligible. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also gave directions on the issue of the distribution of the lease to the slum dwellers on the land of revenue department and should be given preference to distribution of lease of registration.

There are 13 slums in the place of Municipal Corporation and survey of all these slums have been completed. In the context of slum-dwellers in the private premises, the policy is decided at the government level and priority is also given to completion of lease allocation for the slums on private space. TDR has sent to owner of private land and the process of lease distribution would complete soon, informed Mr. Fadnavis.

“The ownership of slum lands located on the land of government, Municipal Corporation, Trust should be towards corporation and Nagpur Corporation should present the proposal of completion of lease allocation for slum dwellers” said Chief Minister.

He further stated that while issuing lease of ownership, a separate arrangement has been made by the register department for the registration. The lease holder who demand for leasehold ownership has been received in connection with the issue of ownership of lease. It was also appealed that such citizens should fill the demand in the name of their possession by filling the demand promptly. It was also instructed to complete the work of allotment of ownership of the property of Vikasnagar, Big Indore, Shi Nagar, Chunabhati on priority.

Mr. Fadanvis ordered that the Municipal Commissioner should worked as a coordinator of Revenue Department and Nagpur Improvement trust while completion of lease allocation work and should submit the details of lease allocation review after the next15 days.

Municipal Commissioner, Abhijit Bangar, Corporator, Sanjay Bangale, Center for Sustainable Development chief Lina Budhe and others were present in the meeting.
