Corona Vaccination: Letter Of Consent Must For Covaxin
Pune, January 15, 2021: The Maharashtra State Health Department has made it clear that a consent form is required for getting Covaxin made by ‘Bharat Biotech. The vaccine will be available for Rs 2,000 at the dental and civil hospitals.
State Government has procured 1.63 lakh vials from Serum institute and 20,000 from Bharat Biotech. “Among them, the 1.63 lakh were distributed in the state while a separate decision will be taken for the distribution of Bharat Biotech”, said State Vaccination head Dr Dilip Patil.
He further said, “two thousand vials will be distributed at Solapur, Aurangabad and Nagpur’s Dental College, two thousand at Grant Medical College and Mumbai’s JJ College similarly, two thousand at Pune and Amravati’s district college. Thus a total of 12,000 vials have got distributed.”
According to the directives given by the Centre, a consent letter is a must for administrating of Covaxin. The Centre also has framed the rules and regulations for this consent form. “Accordingly, the consent will be taken”, said Dr Patil.
