Coronavirus: PCMC Creates War Room To Tackle COVID Spread, Issues New Guidelines

Pimpri Chinchwad, 22 March 2021: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal corporation (PCMC) along with the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate have laid down a few guidelines for the citizens to tackle and content the spread of the Coronavirus. Action will be taken under the Epidemic Diseases Act and Disaster Management Act against those who were found violating the norms.

Following are the guidelines:

1. Police commissionerate will appoint the police in three shifts at the PCMC created war room 24X7. Medical health officer Dr K Anil Roy will be coordinating with the police and other public, private organisations.

2. Eight flying squads have been appointed who can take legal action against those who are seen flouting the guidelines like not wearing the mask, not following the social distance norms, spitting on the road, no use of sanitisers etc.

3. Along with two police employees one PCMC one officer and two other employees from the ward office will ensure that the market places, labour units, traffic on the road, the crowd at various chowk are not crowded and following various Covid-19 norms. Eight such squads to be made who will seal the shops, offices.

4. All the residential buildings, colonies, small establishments can be categorised under three zones

(A) Yellow zone areas where there are only 5% of positive patients of the total population

(B) Orange Zone where are positive patients between 5% to 20%

(C) Red Zone with over 20% of positive patients

5. Announcements in eight zones with two announcements per zone in autorickshaw through PA system.

6. Increase in patrolling with the help from police at crowded places

7. Society secretary with proper guidance from ward officers should ensure that the patients in their society are strictly following the norms.

8. Create a helpline at all the war room created ward-wise.

9. Informative bill-boards according to the guidelines laid by the CTO department should be erected across the city.
