Coronavirus: Pune has highest testing rate in the country
Pune, 19 July 2020: Pune is close to India average in almost all three major parameters – active cases percentage, recovered percentage and mortality, says Rubal Agarwal, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).
Yesterday, 1838 new patients were detected while 18 patients died. Also, 774 people were discharged from hospitals after being cured. Swab samples of 6981 people were collected for COVID tests yesterday. Till now 198489 samples have been tested.
According to PMC, the total number of Coronavirus positive patients till date has reached 35,878 out of which 21,881 have been cured while 935 have died. There are still 13062 active patients undergoing treatment in various hospitals. They include 547 critical patients out of which 89 are on ventilator support.
