Coronavirus : With 3,827 fresh positive cases, Maharashtra reports highest single day spike

Mumbai, June 19, 2020: A total of 1935 patients were discharged while 3827 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Maharashtra today. 142 people died due to the deadly virus today. The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 124,331 informed State Health Minister Rajesh Tope.

According to the health department, 62,773 patients have been cured while 5893 people have died. As on today, there are 55,651 active cases in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 50.49% while the fatality rate in the state is 4.74%. Currently, 5,91,049 people are in home quarantine and 25,697 people are in institutional quarantine.

Out of the 142 deaths reported today, 89 were men and 53 women. 74 of them aged over 60 years, 57 were from the age group 40 to 59 years and 11 were aged less than 40 years. Death toll in Covid-19 patients has now gone up to 5893 in the state.

Out of 7,35,674 laboratory samples, 1,24,331 have been tested positive (16.9%) for COVID-19 until today. As per the guidance from the Government of India, cluster containment action plan is being implemented in places where clusters of patients have been found in the state.
