Covid-19 Cases in India See a 30% Spike in One Day, States like Delhi and Maharashtra Concerned

Delhi, 13th April 2023: India has witnessed a surge in Covid-19 cases with over 10,150 new positive cases reported in a single day, marking a new record. This represents a 30% increase in comparison to the previous day. States like Delhi and Maharashtra are sounding alarm bells as the dangerous coronavirus continues to spread rapidly across the country.
As of April 13th, 2023, a total of 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in India, with 95.21 crore individuals having received their second dose and 22.87 crore individuals receiving a precautionary dose. In the last 24 hours, 327 doses were administered. The active caseload in India currently stands at 44,998, which accounts for only 0.10% of the total cases. The recovery rate in India is currently at 98.71%, with 5,356 individuals recovering in the past 24 hours and a total of 4,42,10,127 individuals having recovered since the beginning of the pandemic. There were 10,158 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours, with a daily positivity rate of 4.42% and a weekly positivity rate of 4.02%. A total of 92.34 crore COVID-19 tests have been conducted so far, with 2,29,958 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
