COVID19: Chest CT-Scan Rates Fixed, PCMC Warns Private Hospitals, Diagnostic Centres Of Action For Overcharging

Pimpri, 23 April 2021: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) today issued an order for a fixed rate of HRCT-Chest (Chest CT Scan) of Covid19 patients. Earlier diagnostics centres, hospitals charged rates as per their convenience.

PCMC Commissioner Rajesh Patil has directed all the diagnostic centres and private hospitals that they have to provide the services within the rates fixed by the Maharashtra state government.

Specifications of CT Scan Machine – Amount

Less than 16 slice CT – Rs 2000

Multi-Detector CT (MD CT) 16-64 slices – Rs 2500

Multi-Detector CT (MD CT) More than 64 slices – Rs 3000

“These rates are inclusive of GST, sanitisation charges, disinfectant, PPE kit, CT scan and its report (CT film)”, the PCMC chief clarified.

The rates have to be displayed on the front portion/strategic location in the private hospital/diagnostic centre so that people can know about the various charges.

“If anyone is found overcharging, then action will be taken as per Epidemic Disease Act and Maharashtra Essential Services Maintenance Act (MESMA) amendment 2011”, Patil stated in his order.
