Pune, 9th October 2026: Residents of housing societies along Punyadham Ashram Road in Kondhwa Budruk, including Fortune Prospero Housing Society, have raised concerns over the poor condition of roads, alleging that no repairs have been undertaken even after the monsoon rains have subsided.

The residents said the roughly 100-metre stretch connecting Fortune Prospero to the main road is riddled with crater-sized potholes, making it difficult for motorists to navigate. The road is also used by residents of nearby settlements and industrial workers commuting to the Tyni Industrial Estate in Pisoli.

“Our society has more than 180 flats and is barely a few metres from Punyadham Ashram Road. However, the connecting stretch is severely damaged, with crater-sized potholes. We expected civic officials to undertake repairs after the rains stopped, but no work has been carried out so far,” a Fortune Prospero resident said.

Another resident, Tanvi Shaikh, said the stretch had become unsafe for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers. Its narrow width, combined with frequent movement of heavy vehicles and large potholes, increases the risk of accidents, she said.

“There is no tar visible on the road. Given its condition, it is difficult to even call it a road. Despite being part of the Pune Municipal Corporation and paying our taxes regularly, we feel as though we are living in a rural area,” Shaikh said, adding that while the district administration is building new roads for a cycling tour, the routes regularly used by residents remain in poor condition.

Residents also alleged that encroachments along Punyadham Ashram Road had worsened traffic congestion. They claimed there had been no visible anti-encroachment drive in recent months and that obstructions were restricting vehicle movement, leading to traffic jams, particularly during peak hours.

The residents have urged the civic administration to repair the damaged stretch and take action against encroachments to improve road safety and ease traffic congestion.
