Dahihandi Celebration in Pune: Ambulances Placed At Various Locations

Pune, 18th August 2022: Pune is all set to begin celebrations for the Dahihandi Festival tomorrow, following two years of lockdown.

The enthusiasm this year is at its peak. To prevent injuries, as human towers are built during celebrations, ambulances of private hospitals have taken an initiative. During courageous sports like Dahihandi, many Govindas are injured. It is necessary to provide them with first aid before the injuries get progressively serious. To make treatment available sooner, Lokmanya Hospital in Pune has provided ambulances.

The Vice-Chairman of the Lokmanya Hospital, Dr Shrikrishna Joshi, said, “There will be 10 ambulances across the city”. This initiative was taken to cut the delay during the treatment of the patient. The hospital’s director and surgeon, Dr Narendra Vaidya, said, “When human towers built during celebration collapse, Govindas get injured. Hand and leg fractures and head, neck, and backbone injuries are commonly seen in Govindas. Quick treatment helps to maintain enthusiasm and also helps to cut the chaos. To provide Govindas with treatment on time, the ambulance campaign was started.”
