Tweeting “Nostalgic moment in Pune at PYC Gymkhana,” the 49-year-old narrated his stories from the Gymkhana.

“I am at the PYC Club in Pune, and it is here that I played my first under-15 match for Mumbai,” Tendulkar says in the video.

He goes on to narrate a story that once brought him to tears on that field. “I was batting at the non-striker’s end, and my school colleague, Rahul Ganpule, was with me. He was about two and a half years older than me. He was a quick runner. He was at the strike when he hit an off-drive and pushed me for a third run. But, I did not have the speed then, and I was run out. I only made four runs. However, the memory is still fresh of how I cried all the way to the pavilion,” Tendulkar narrated.

The cricketer explained how he was highly disappointed as it was his first match, and he was eager to score runs.

The cricketer recalled how the then Manager of the Mumbai Under-15 team, Abdul Ismail, and others like Milind Rege and Vasu Paranjpe consoled and encouraged him when he reached the dressing room.

Tendulkar explained how he was emotional even now, over 39 years later, as he stood on the same ground.
