Delhi Police Gives Permission For Farmers Tractor Rally On January 26 At Three Places, Conditions Imposed

Delhi, January 24, 2021: Farmers, who have been agitating against the three new agricultural laws for nearly two months, are about to take out a tractor rally on 26 January, Republic Day.

The Delhi Police has provided permission for the same under certain conditions. Delhi Police Special Commissioner Dependra Pathak stated that the Farmer Rally will begin from three areas of Delhi. The rally will be conducted on a 62 km route from the Singhu border, 63 km from the Tikri border, and 46 km from the Ghazipur border.

He said that our priority is to provide security and get the tractor rally done in a peaceful manner. Pathak also said that a total of 308 Twitter handles from Pakistan are working to influence the tractor rally.

Special CP of Delhi Police said that a meeting with farmer leaders and officers of Delhi Police was held regarding the Farmer Tractor Rally. “We had many long rounds of talks with the United Kisan Morcha. We stated that Republic Day is a matter of national pride, it should be taken care of”, he said.

He stated that there was a good dialogue with the United Kisan Morcha and other farmer representatives.

Pathak said that it was the desire of the farmers to take out a tractor rally in Delhi on Republic Day. He stated,” Keeping this in mind, we have allowed the rally to take place from the three areas of Delhi, the Singhu border, the Tikri border, and the Ghazipur border”.

308 Twitter Handles From Pakistan Trying To Influence Rally

Delhi Police Special CP said that the tractor rally has also received inputs to damage it. If you look at the social media review from January 13 to 18, then 308 Twitter handles are running from Pakistan. Their attempt is to influence the tractor rally. He said that there has been a discussion with Haryana and UP police as some parts of the tractor rally will also be held in these two states. We are trying to provide an environment of security with rules and regulations. At the same time, before this, the Delhi Police Commissioner has issued a written instruction to all officers and said that they should be alert during the tractor rally.

Talking to a private channel on Farmer Tractor Rally, Yogendra Yadav said that he is coming to win hearts, not Delhi. Farmers will take out a tractor rally on five routes. Permission has been granted on five routes. The police have provided permission for the same. Yadav said that farmers will take out a rally in a peaceful manner. There will be no weapon. He informed that at least one lakh tractors will participate in this rally. However, the Special CP of Delhi Police confirmed only three routes to have been allowed in the press conference.

Republic Day national festival, farmers should undertake the tractor rally on another day- Tomar

Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar while talking to a private news channel stated that farmers are not discussing the point wisely. It is not an option to repeal agricultural legislation. He said that, if the farmers want to take out a tractor rally there are 365 days for the farmers to undertake the same and should not be done on a day like 26 January. Republic Day is a national festival. Tomar said that farmers should consider the government’s proposal. The government is ready for talks and is working on its proposal.
