Deputy CM Ajit Pawar Inspects Pune Airport’s New Terminal, Stresses World-Class Facilities for Passengers

Pune, 9th February 2024: Emphasizing the need for world-class amenities at the new airport terminal, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar conducted an inspection of the Pune Airport’s latest facility. Pawar directed officials to ensure high-quality services that would align with Pune’s esteemed reputation, catering to the growing number of air travelers.

Accompanied by MLA Sunil Tingre, Divisional Commissioner Chandrakant Pulkundwar, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, District Collector Suhas Diwase, Airport Authority of India General Manager PK Dutta, and Airport Director Santosh Doke, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar explored the new terminal’s features and facilities.

Expressing optimism, Pawar stated that the new airport terminal would enhance Pune’s stature, welcoming numerous travelers from across the country. The modern amenities provided in this terminal are expected to boost passenger and flight numbers, ensuring a comfortable and convenient journey. Pawar emphasized that the terminal’s contemporary facilities would contribute to increasing air travel capacity, benefitting both domestic and international flights.

Pawar outlined several suggestions during the inspection, including the introduction of attractive indoor plants in the airport area, displaying information about important heritage sites in the state and Pune in both Marathi and English, and prioritizing cleanliness. His scrutiny covered various aspects, including the aerobridge, aircraft parking, private aircraft parking, check-in counters, VIP lounge, baggage handling, and more.

Airport Director Doke briefed Pawar on the current passenger facilities, the arrival-departure system, vehicle parking, baggage handling system, lounge services, and other existing amenities. Additionally, Doke provided insights into planned future developments and renovations for the Airport.
