Didn’t Share Info With Media About Sushant Singh Rajput Case: CBI

Mumbai/Pune, September 3, 2020: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today issued a clarification stating that the agency has not shared any details related to actor Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

“The CBI is conducting an investigation related to the death of Sh. Sushant Singh Rajput in a systematic and professional way. Certain media reports attributed to CBI investigation are speculative and not based on facts. It is reiterated that as a matter of policy, CBI does not share details of the ongoing investigation. CBI spokesperson or any team member has not shared any details of the investigation with media. The details being reported and attributed to CBI are not credible. It is requested that media may please confirm details from CBI Spokesperson before quoting CBI”, the premier investigation agency said in a statement.

Sushant Singh Rajput, the 34-year-old actor who brought Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s character on screen, was found dead in a flat in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14.

Sushant’s father Krishna Kishore Singh has lodged an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and his family at Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna for taking advantage of Sushant and securing his assets unlawfully, hence cornering him for suicide. A case was registered against Rhea and other for offences under sections 306 (abetment of suicide), 380 (theft), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 420 (cheating) and 406 (breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Later, the Supreme Court of India transferred the investigation to CBI on August 19.
