Pune: 35,000 Passengers Travelled By PMPML Buses On First Day After Services Resumed

Pune, September 3, 2020: The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) started bus services after a gap of five months. As many as 34,443 passengers travelled by 477 buses today across Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. 

Due to the lockdown, the PMPML had stopped bus services from March 25. The administration had decided a week before Ganpati festival to start the services from September 3. On Tuesday it was decided to start the service with only 25 percent buses on 190 routes.

“The buses have started running from today. All buses were sanitized and there were zigzag seating arrangements inside the bus. The stands were also sanitized,” said Rajendra Jagtap, Chairman and Managing Director of PMPML.
