DJ Event At Viman Nagar Flouts All Norms, Complaints Of Residents Fall On Deaf Ears

Pune, 2nd October 2022: A Garba and DJ event organized in Viman Nagar became a nuisance for residential societies in the area. The sound levels crossed all permitted limits even after the set time limits. High levels of sound led to glass shattering around the houses near the location of the event. The event was held on the ground next to Symbiosis College of Mass Communication.

Despite repeated complaints to various police helpline numbers, the event was running till midnight on 1st October. To gain support, local politicians, corporators, police, and businessmen were invited and felicitated at the event.

There are several senior citizens, small infants, kids and ill people staying in the residential societies next to the ground. On calling the Vimantal police phone, the line remained busy continuously for an hour. Emergency helpline numbers 112, 100, and control numbers were helpless by saying that help is on the way.

Now, the members of Lunkad gold coast, Lunkad Amazon and other societies in the vicinity are planning to send a letter to the college management and the event organizers as well as to the police station nearby.

One of the members of the Gold Coast said, ” The sound levels were already high from seven in the evening. It was a big problem for us, but we were waiting till 10 pm; even then it did not stop. Then all society members planned to complain about the event, but there were no actions taken against it. It was seen as if the event was carried by the support of police and politicians; they all were facilitated and also gave big speeches at the event about social awareness. In fact, the event was itself an act against the harmony and calmness in the area.”
