Dulquer Salmaan’s “King Of Kotha” Advance Booking Blitz – Over 7,880 Tickets Sold Within 24 Hours
Mumbai, 18th August 2023: Dulquer Salmaan’s admirers are currently relishing his outstanding performance in the Netflix movie “Guns And Gulaab,” where he shares the screen with Rajkumar Rao. Simultaneously, they are eagerly anticipating the release of “King Of Kotha,” ever since the trailer for the film premiered. Scheduled to hit theatres on August 24, in celebration of Onam, Dulquer’s upcoming film has already seen a swift sell-out of advance tickets in select cinemas.
According to reports, the advance ticket sales for the movie were extremely brisk, with BookMyShow registering an impressive sale of 7,880 tickets within the first 24 hours of opening the booking. Film industry tracker AB George shared a screenshot from the booking app, noting the enthusiastic response: “Dulquer Salmaan’s Onam release, ‘King Of Kotha,’ opened booking in a few locations, and the response has been positive from all corners. Book My Show sold 7,880 tickets in the last 24 hours… Many fan shows are already fully booked, signalling an excellent opening ahead.”
The narrative of “King Of Kotha” revolves around Raju, a former footballer turned gangster who takes up arms to safeguard his hometown, Kotha, and its inhabitants. Amidst the action and drama, the film also weaves in a touching love story between Dulquer and Aishwarya Lekshmi, who plays the female lead. The movie boasts an ensemble cast including Shabeer Kallarakkal, Gokul Suresh, Prasanna, Chemban Vinod Jose, and others.
Directed by Abhilash Joshiy and penned by Abhilash N Chandran, “King Of Kotha” is a joint production of Wayfarer Films and Zed Studios. Cinematography is skillfully handled by Nimish Ravi, while the soundtrack is composed by Jakes Bejoy and Shaan Rahman. Two songs from the film’s album have already garnered significant appreciation from the audience. With an impressive budget of Rs 50 crore, “King of Kotha” is set to release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi languages.
