Dussehra Drives Punekars to Register Over 9,500 Vehicles, Including 814 E-Vehicles

Pune, 4th October 2025: Punekars continued the tradition of purchasing vehicles during the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, with a total of 9,531 new vehicles registered between September 21 and 29, according to the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pune.

The registrations included 5,438 two-wheelers, 2,554 four-wheelers, 361 goods transport vehicles, 191 tourist taxis, 69 rickshaws, 17 buses, and 87 other vehicles.

This year also saw a significant increase in electric vehicle registrations, reflecting the city’s growing preference for environmentally friendly options. A total of 814 new e-vehicles were registered, including 679 e-two-wheelers, 116 e-cars, 8 e-taxis, 7 e-goods transport vehicles, and 4 e-rickshaws.

Deputy Regional Transport Officer Swapnil Bhosale said, “RTO officers and staff made special preparations to ensure smooth registration during Dussehra. The rise in electric vehicle registrations clearly indicates that Punekars are adopting an eco-friendly approach while celebrating the festive tradition of purchasing new vehicles.”
