Efforts to be set up pea processing unit at Khachrod

CM Shri Chouhan inaugurates and performs Bhumi Poojan of Rs. 466 crore development works

Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that every possible effort would be made to set up a pea processing unit at Khachrod. He was addressing Antyodaya Mela at Khachrod in Ujjain district today. Shri Chouhan directed collector to reserve land for this unit. He also directed to ensure sale of peas at Mandi. Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated and performed Bhumi Poojan of 51 development works costing Rs. 466 crore.

200 houses costing Rs. 10 crore for poor

The Chief Minister announced construction of 200 houses costing Rs. 10 crore for the poor in the first phase. He said that pre-matric hostel will also be established at Khachrod. The state government will provide Rs. 25 lakh to Nagar Parishad for solid waste management and Rs. 39 lakh to chalk out plan to modernise city. Funds for internal city roads will be allotted after preparation of estimates. The Chief Minister also announced Rs. 2 crore to provide basic amenities in scheduled castes habitats in Khachrod Vidhan Sabha constituency.

MSc classes in government college

The Chief Minister dedicated gymnasium hall on premises of Khachrod Government Vikram College and announced to start MSc classes from next session. He said that statue of Swami Vivekananda will be installed on the college premises.

Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Thawarchand Gehlot, School Education Minister Shri Paras Jain, MP Shri Chintamani Malviya and MLAs Shri Dilip Shekhawat and Shri Bahadur Singh Chouhan were also present on the occasion.

Over 7000 beneficiaries benefited at Antyodaya Mela

At Antyodaya Mela, the state government gave away benefits worth over Rs. 22 crore to 7,280 beneficiaries under welfare programmes. Social Justice Department gave away modern battery-run tricycles, crèches, hearing aids and wheelchairs to disabled persons.
