“Ek Pedh Maa ke Naam”: A Tribute to Mothers through Tree Planting At Anandvan 4 in Pune

Kondhwa, 21st July 2024: Over 300 volunteers, including children and adults, united to plant trees and pledge their commitment to protecting the environment at Anandvan 4. Organized by the Anandvan Foundation in collaboration with the Forest Department of Pune, the drive was themed “Ek Pedh Maa ke Naam,” which translates to “One Tree in the Name of Mother.”

The event saw the participation of Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) N. R. Praveen and several officials from the Forest Department, Pune. They not only planted trees but also encouraged volunteers to regularly engage in such environmental initiatives.

 

The day began with a vibrant meet where participants held placards and banners to spread awareness about the importance of tree plantation. This was followed by a ceremonial tree planting, where each volunteer dedicated a tree to their mother or a mother figure in their life.

 

A significant highlight of the event was the display of drawings by over 70 children. These artworks showcased their love for nature and their dedication to environmental protection, reflecting the creativity and enthusiasm of the young participants.
