Pune, 10th November 2025: The much-awaited reservation draw for the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections will be conducted tomorrow (Tuesday, November 11) at 11 am at Ganesh Kala Krida Manch. The event will determine the reservation pattern in 41 wards and clarify who among the political aspirants — men or women — will contest from each ward.
Following the ward formation, political workers and aspirants have been eagerly waiting for the reservation draw to plan their election strategies. Several potential candidates had delayed their campaign activities due to the uncertainty over ward reservations.
A total of 165 corporators will be elected from the 41 wards. As per the draft, 50 percent of the total seats (83 seats) will be reserved for women. Additionally, 22 seats have been earmarked for Scheduled Castes, 2 seats for Scheduled Tribes, and 44 seats for Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
The draft reservation format will be published on November 17, following the draw. Citizens and political representatives can submit their objections and suggestions regarding the draft between November 17 and 24. After reviewing these, the final notification of reservation for the PMC elections will be released.
The reservation announcement is expected to shape the political landscape of Pune, as several aspirants await confirmation of their eligibility to contest from specific wards.
