Pune, 8th July 2023: Today, at approximately 9 am, the 400 kV transmission line connecting Shikrapur to Talegaon experienced a fault, leading to a power outage. The breakdown occurred in the high-voltage transmission line operated by Adani company.

Currently, due to the low electricity demand, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is working to provide power through an alternative system, implementing load management strategies. Consequently, certain areas may experience periodic load regulation.

At 9:03 am today, one of the four 400 kV ultra-high voltage transmission lines owned by Adani company suffered a disruption near Talegaon MIDC. This incident resulted in the suspension of approximately 355 megawatts of electricity transmission. As a consequence, the power supply in the following areas was affected: Pimpri village, Rahatni, Pimpale Saudagar, Kalewadi, Chinchwad village, Walhekarwadi, Rawet, Dehu Road, Kharadi, old Mundhwa, Thitewadi, Theur, Perne, Shikrapur, Koregaon Bhima, Sanswadi, Koregaon, and others.

Repair efforts for the 400 kV ultra-high voltage transmission lines operated by the power grid are currently underway with utmost urgency. However, it is estimated that it will take approximately seven to eight hours to complete the repairs. In the meantime, MSETCL and MSEDCL are working together to provide alternate power supply through load management techniques. In certain areas, load regulation will be implemented cyclically.
