EMMTC under 14 Junior Tennis Nationals in Aurangabad from December 18

Aurangabad, 17th December 2021: Over 150 Boys and Girls from all over the country will be seen in action at the EMMTC Junior National Tennis Nationals for Boys and Girls under 14 which will be conducted under the auspices of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) at the EMMTC Tennis complex in Aurangabad from December 18 to December 25, 2021.

It will be the sixth edition of the event which is being played on Clay courts of the EMMTC complex. The event could not be held in Aurangabad in February 2021 due to Covid but was held at MSLTA in Mumbai. Maharashtra player Aasmi Adkar and Pranav Rethin of Tamil Nadu Emerged winners in the last edition

Sunder Iyer, Hon Secretary, MSLTA said a total scholarship of Rs 2 lakhs will be awarded as scholarships to players from the first round apart from attractive prizes and gifts from Enerzal. ” We are happy to return back to Aurangabad and to the EMMTC centre, we are planning major national ranking events, camps at the EMMTC and to help players from the Marathwada region, ” he added.

Mrunmayee Joshi, Neeraj Ringaonkar from Aurangabad will be seen in action in the main draw of the event, while 20 boys and girls from the Marathwada region including Parbhani, Nanded and Aurangabad will be seen in action in the qualifying rounds. Arnav Paparkar, Nainika Reddy, Aishwarya Jadhav, Manan Agarwal are some of the prominent state players in the draw.

“We are very happy as tennis in the Marathwada region is growing with many more tennis courts, coaches, players. We are thankful to Varsha Jain and Anurang Jain for their unparalleled support to tennis activities and for helping the game to become popular not only in Aurangabad but also in Beed, Parbhani, Nanded and Jalna, Iyer added.

While the Boys 14 main draw will be of 64, the Girls under 14 Main draws will be of 48, added Iyer.

The Qualifying rounds will be held on December 18 and 19th while the main draws will start from Monday 20th. The winner gets a trophy, 200 AITA points, while the runner up will receive a trophy and 150 AITA Points.

Mrs Varsha Jain will be the tournament director of the event, while Vaishali Kannamwar has been appointed as the AITA Supervisor of the event, Pravin Prasad and Pavin Gaisamudre have been appointed as Chief referees for the event.

A special committee under the chairmanship of Sanjay Dutta, and comprising of MSLTA council member Ali Panjwani, Ashutosh Mishra and Gajendra Bhosale of EMMTC has been set up for the smooth conduct of the event.
