Encourage Students By Promoting Their Research Projects: Uday Samant

Pune, 22nd October 2021: Maharashtra Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant, has appealed that students must be encouraged by publicizing their hard-earned research projects and the tools created by them.

He was speaking at the inauguration of the new building of the Progressive Education Society’s Modern Educational Complex.

Dr Nitin Karmalkar, Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Vighnahari Maharaj Deo, President of the Society, Dr Gajanan Ekbote, Working President, Jyotsna Ekbote were present on the occasion.

Samant said that colleges should try to provide necessary facilities to the students along with providing guidance to experts and scholars. The goal of the new education policy which is being outlined by the Maharashtra government is to make every student self-reliant. This policy needs to be communicated effectively to the students.

He added, “We will not get the attention of the industry or the world unless the education in the country is advanced. Therefore, the ideal education system in the country will be brought in three phases.

In the first phase, activities will be implemented to take the student forward based on the existing infrastructure. In the second phase, the facilities in the educational institutions will be further upgraded and in the third phase, new initiatives will be implemented by the government and the institutions.

In this direction, a meeting of the representatives of the autonomous bodies will be held with the Vice-Chancellor after Diwali to resolve the issues of the autonomous bodies, he further said.

Students need to get acquainted with the history and culture of the state along with higher education and universities should make efforts in this regard. He hoped that the students studying abroad would impart their knowledge and experience to the students of the state.

Vice-Chancellor Dr Karmalkar said that educational institutions were set up in the city of Pune in the pre-independence period with the objective of imparting national education. These institutions have made good contributions to educational development in India. Modern College has created the necessary facilities in the age of online education. These facilities will be of great use to the students. He appealed to the students to use the excellent curriculum provided by the university.

The minister also unveiled the publication of research material ‘Gyanmay’. He also felicitated meritorious students hands.

Earlier, Samant inaugurated the new building, computer room, and classroom of the institute. He learned about innovative projects from students.
