Entry Banned at Devkund Waterfall, Tamhini Ghat, and Secret Point Till September 30; Strict Rules Imposed for Tourist Safety

Raigad, 19th June 2025: In light of the monsoon season and rising safety concerns, the Raigad District Administration has imposed a ban on entry to Devkund Waterfall, Secret Point, and Tamhini Ghat from June 17 to September 30, 2025.
This decision has been taken to prevent untoward incidents like drowning, road accidents, and environmental damage during the monsoon, which draws a large number of tourists to these scenic yet risky destinations.
Activities Strictly Prohibited:
As per the official order, the following actions are banned within a 1 km radius of the locations:
Consumption of alcohol
Swimming near or under waterfalls
Taking dangerous selfies or shooting videos at risky spots
Littering, especially with plastic waste
Vehicle entry (except for emergency services)
The district authorities have emphasized that these rules are being enforced under applicable safety and environmental regulations, and violators will face strict legal action.
Tourists are advised to respect the restrictions and cooperate with local authorities to ensure their safety and the preservation of natural heritage.
The administration has also appealed to citizens to avoid visiting these spots until the monsoon season ends.
