EPFO Engages Workers and Employers in Pune With Comprehensive PF Outreach Program

Chakan, 27th December 2024: In a significant step towards enhancing the social security provisions for its members, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) successfully organized the NIDHI AAPKE NIKAT 2.0 District Outreach Program at M/s ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd., Chakan, Pune, on 27th December 2024. This initiative, a part of EPFO’s expanded outreach effort, was aimed at spreading awareness among newly covered establishments and EPF subscribers in the region.

The event, organized by the EPFO Regional Office Akurdi Pune-2, focused on educating employers, employees, pensioners, and stakeholders about key Provident Fund (PF) and Pension-related matters. Topics covered included the UAN activation process, compliance mechanisms for international workers, Digital Life Certificate (DLC) updation, Form 5A updates, online e-nomination filing, Principal Employer portal updates, and other PF-related queries. A dedicated helpdesk was also set up on-site to assist attendees with these processes.

G Madhumitha Das, Joint Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India, graced the event as the Chief Guest. In her address, she urged attendees to link multiple Member IDs with their UAN and emphasized the importance of activating the UAN for seamless access to government benefits. She also encouraged HR executives to guide employees in UAN activation and the broader use of UAN for future PF activities. She praised EPFO for its continued efforts in ensuring social security for its subscribers and congratulated the EPFO Akurdi team for successfully organizing the event.

As part of the outreach, 08 UAN activations were completed at the event venue, with a further 14 UAN activations facilitated at a secondary helpdesk set up at M/s Sigma Engineering Solutions.

During the program, G Madhumitha Das also handed over one Pension Payment Order (PPO) to a beneficiary under the Prayass Scheme, reinforcing EPFO’s commitment to providing comprehensive social security services to its pensioners.

Bipin Erande, Superintendent of the Pune Rural Division Post, also attended the program. He appealed to everyone to approach the nearest post office for any necessary corrections related to Aadhaar, such as issues with name, date of birth, missing or mismatched mobile numbers, etc., in order to avail hassle-free benefits related to Provident Fund. He also informed the attendees about the newly launched facility, allowing pensioners who are unable to visit post offices or centers to update their DLC (Declaration of Life Certificate) via a postman on call. Additionally, he elaborated on various postal schemes and their provisions. The Postal Department has also set up a dedicated help desk to educate visitors about the different postal schemes, their benefits, and how to use them.

Additionally, Sujata Agasti, Assistant Director, ESIC Pune Zone, attended the program as part of an effort to address workers’ grievances under one roof. This initiative aligns with EPFO’s vision of collaborating with other organizations to offer holistic services to beneficiaries.

The event was conducted under the guidance of K Ravindra Kumar Regional PF Commissioner-I followed by Manoj Mane, Regional PF Commissioner-II , Minhaj Asghar Regional PF Commissioner-II, Rauf Shaikh Nodal Officer, N Ramesh Enforcement Officer, Mahesh Ghale, Enforcement Officer, D.C. Girigosavi Enforcement Officer, Vaishali Dhumal Enforcement, Susan Mudaliar Account Officer, Rajendra Banajwade, Account Officer (Zonal Office Pune), Pankaj Nema, Alok Kumar, Kumar Amit, Chandra Shekhar Aza,  Rakesh Kumar Singh, Ravi Shekhar Sinha, Vaibhav Mandale and the team of PF official of Akurdi Office.

Representatives from ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd., including Jayesh Sule, Ram Hari Kute, and Ajay Nikumabh, expressed their appreciation for EPFO Akurdi’s efforts in addressing PF grievances promptly and enhancing services for subscribers, stakeholders, and pensioners.

The success of this event highlights EPFO’s commitment to expanding its reach and ensuring that its services are accessible to all workers, especially in newly covered districts. EPFO Akurdi plans to continue organizing such outreach programs at regular intervals to facilitate better understanding and faster resolution of issues faced by PF subscribers.
