Everyday About 35,000 Passengers Traveling In Pune Metro On 12 KM Routes

Pune, 15th March 2022: A total of 2 lakh 27 thousand 950 passengers have traveled on the two routes in a week after the commencement of Pune Metro passenger service in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

 

In seven days, an average of 34 thousand 243 citizens have traveled every day, through which the Maharashtra Metro Railway Corporation has received an average income of Rs 4 lakh 5 thousand 709.

 

Meanwhile, the record number of passengers per day was recorded as 67,350 on Sunday (March 13). Metro’s passenger service started on March 6 on a distance of 5 km from Vanaz (Kothrud) to Garware College and 7 km from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Bhavan to Phugewadi.

 

Metro passenger service was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 6. As soon as the Metro was inaugurated, there was a rush of passengers to travel on the Metro from 2 pm onwards. On the first day of the service, 37 thousand 752 citizens traveled in the metro.

 

Senior citizens, women, students, youth, workers, families, various groups are coming to travel in the metro. Reactions to the metro journey are also being expressed through photographs, selfies, and social media. Some schools in the area are also organizing student metro safaris.

 

According to the Maharashtra Metro Railway Corporation, 2 lakh 27 thousand 950 passengers traveled on the Metro during the period after the commencement of Metro service (March 6 to 13). A one-day record of 67,350 passengers was recorded on Sunday. On the same day, Metro received an income of Rs 10 lakh 7 thousand 940 rupees. Considering seven days, an average of 34 thousand 243 citizens have traveled in the metro every day and an average income of Rs 4 lakh 5 thousand 709 has been received.

 

Mobile app for tickets for the convenience of passengers, online ticketing has been made available by Maha metro. Till now 26 thousand 742 citizens have downloaded the app. Mobile ticketing is on the rise and for the convenience of passengers, Maha metro has hired staff at sliding stairs, elevators, and ticket windows.
