Pune, 15th March 2022: The Lancet Planetary Health has reported that the inclusion of animal-derived foods in the diet doubled between 1990 and 2018. Milk, cheese, eggs, processed meats, and fish are on the diet of people all over the world and Indians prefer eggs, milk, meat, and fish.

The journal The Lancet Planetary Health recently published a study, which looks at changing global dietary habits. According to the study, the proportion of animal products in the global, social and local dietary habits increased by 96 percent, cheese by 56 percent, and eggs by about 141 percent during 1990-2018. However, the study found that Indians prefer milk, processed meat, and fish in their diet.

The Lancet noted that this difference has been made in the last few years due to increasing economic stability over time, easy availability of food, the growing trend towards animal husbandry business, and the growing network of processing industries. The study looked at the dietary habits of more than six lakh people in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. This information will be used to update global diet records.

The use of milk, dairy, and other animal products in the diet has been reported to have some adverse effects on human health. The use of this substance in the diet was limited due to the lack of both availability of the substance and its affordable economic well-being. Over time, a variety of diets and types of exercise have led to an increase in the intake of animal foods. It has advantages as well as disadvantages for the body. Therefore, dietary experts say that only a limited intake of milk, dairy products, and meat is appropriate.

Dietitians are of the view that the people should not overeat anything. This will keep their health in check.
