Exhibition of Rare Stamps Organised At Pune University

Pune, 13th August 2022: Shravan Hardikar, Inspector General of Registration and Stamps Department of the State, said that even today many departments and many individuals have rare documents.
An exhibition of rare stamps (stamp paper) has been organized by the Warsa Tourism Committee of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) at Marble Hall in the main building of the university. Shravan Hardikar was speaking at its inauguration at that time.
On this occasion Savitribai Phule Pune University Vice-Chancellor Dr Karbhari Kale, Vice-Chancellor Sanjeev Sonwane, Registrar Dr Prafulla Pawar, Adhi Sabha Member Sunetra Pawar, Head of History Department Dr Shraddha Kumbhojkar, Head of Anthropology Department Dr Anjali Kurane, Head of Media and Communication Studies Department Dr Madhavi Reddy, Prof Babasaheb Dudhabhate, Prof Rahul Magar, Prof Devkumar Ahire and other dignitaries were present.
Rajkumar Khurpe of Jaisingpur has collected about 1500 stamps of 200 different states in 20 years. Some of these selected stamps have been exhibited at the university. Citizens can see this exhibition on August 15.
On this occasion, Hardikar said, “The exhibition put up by Warsa Tourism Committee in the 75th anniversary year of Independence is commendable and informative about history. For this, the necessary help in future will be provided by the Stamp Department.”
The University has set up a permanent gallery of such documents which is open to all on the occasion of heritage tours. We intend to do more research and rare collections in the future. Persons possessing such a rare collection should contact the Department of History, so that further work may be done on it in the future,” said Dr Karbhari Kale, Chancellor, Savitribai Phule Pune University.
