Expansion Of Khadki And Shivajinagar Railway Stations Proposed To Decongest Pune Station

Pune, 22nd September 2021: A meeting was held at Pune Divisional Railway Manager’s office to discuss various issues with Pune MP Girish Bapat.

 

The meeting was attended by Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Renu Sharma, Additional Divisional Railway Manager Prakash Upadhyay and several branch officers, IRSDC Nodal Officer, Additional Chief Project Manager (UG)/Metro, representatives of Metro Rail and officials of MRDICL MahaRail attended.

Bapat reviewed work of doubling of Pune-Miraj rail section, Pune-Nashik Rail Project, Development of Hadapsar Satellite Terminal, Electrification of Pune-Miraj-Kolhapur route, Pune Yard Remodeling, 3rd-4th Railway Line between Pune-Lonavala, Maldhakka Goods Shed, issues like proposed future plans for development/expansion of station premises at Shivajinagar and Khadki stations to decongest Pune station etc. were discussed.

 

He suggested that there are some issues with land acquisition for which meetings should be held by the railway officials with the officials of the state government, other departments like municipal corporations, metro and where necessary the locations should also be visited.

Bapat assured full support and cooperation in all matters related to the infrastructural development of the Division and appreciated the work done by the Pune Railway Administration to implement the various demands raised by them from time to time.
