Pune, 23rd September 2021: Dr Pradeep Agashe has been teaching mathematics for the last 40 years in Maharashtra.

Recognising his services, Bengaluru-based Learning Matters Pvt Ltd has awarded him with the ‘Excellence in Teaching Mathematics’ certificate at the Star Educator Award ceremony which was held online on September 3, 2021. The trophy arrived in Pune by courier on 20th September.

Learning Matters Pvt Ltd is an organization dedicated to the holistic development of students by conducting various educational experiments across the country and abroad. They give awards every year on the occasion of Teacher’s Day. Another special feature of this award is that applications for this award are not invited from that person but are recommended by various educational and social organizations around the world. This year, hundreds of recommendations were received for ten different awards.

Dr Agashe from Maharashtra was selected for the award in the Mathematics category. He was a teacher at RR Vidyalaya in Bhor from 1973-83.

“Creating interest among students is the primary aim of teaching. Mathphobia is created largely by parents even before their children enter school. If the teachers create an interest in math at an early age using activity-based learning, then mathematics is not only an interesting subject but also one of the simplest”, said Dr Agashe, Math trainer, Lend-A-Hand India, Maharashtra.
