Explore Historic Pune: PMC Introduces Weekend Heritage Walks

Pune, 6th April 2026: In a bid to promote awareness about the city’s rich historical and cultural heritage, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced the launch of guided “Heritage Walks” for citizens.

The officials said, the initiative aims to help residents and visitors explore Pune’s historic landmarks and understand their significance. The heritage walks will be conducted on Saturdays and Sundays, starting at 7 am.

The programme is scheduled to begin from April 4, 2026, and will continue till May 10, 2026. Ticket charges have been fixed at Rs 300 for adults, Rs 200 for higher secondary students, and Rs 100 for school students. Foreign tourists will be charged Rs 500 per person.

The heritage walk will cover several prominent historical sites across Pune, including Shaniwar Wada, Lal Mahal, Kasba Ganpati Temple, Vishrambaug Wada, and other culturally significant locations. Officials said the initiative is designed to encourage citizens to reconnect with Pune’s heritage and gain deeper insight into its historical evolution.

The PMC has urged maximum participation from residents to make the initiative successful and foster greater appreciation for the city’s legacy.
